The Wings Basketball Academy provides an opportunity for athletes in aged 4-18 to develop their skills and compete at beginners to elite level. Players train for the duration of the year in academy setting and are then given the opportunity to participate in local competition and trial in district competition format. In 2018 the Academy participated in its inaugural carnival against under 14 div.2 level players and beat the Southern Tigers in the Bearcats Carnival Grand Final, from there my Academy has expanded from that one team to now having 20 teams of elite and beginner level players in just over 2 years. To make this possible we offer district level hands on coaching from accredited state and high school coaches with level-0 to 3 qualifications and extensive experience in youth sports development. By coaching on Friday and Saturday’s and utilising their experience and passion for the development of players, our aim is to produce players with technical level knowledge, high basketball IQ and a willingness to give back to the sport.
